Woosamonsa Road over a Tributary to Baldin's Creek (MC#236.4), Hopewell Township
On or about Monday, April 6, 2020, replacement of Mercer County Structure No. 236.4, which carries Woosamonsa Road over a Tributary to Baldwin's Creek, located between Burd Road and NJ State Route 31 in Hopewell Township will commence. Due to advanced deterioration of the masonry work, especially near the water line, the structure is susceptible to failure during high flooding events. Therefore, full replacement of the structure has been deemed necessary as soon as possible.
Construction will take place from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday and will be completed using in-house personnel. Mercer County anticipates the project will require approximately sixty (60) calendar days to complete, weather permitting. During construction, Woosamonsa Road up to the bridge will be open to local residents. However, the bridge will be fully closed to through traffic. A detour will be posted directing motorists to use Burd Road, Pennington-Harbourton Road (CR 623) and NJ State Route 31.
