Covered Bridges Ride Volunteers Needed!
Our Annual Covered Bridges Ride will be here before you know it. Nearly 2,000 riders are expected to participate this year (Sunday, October 15) and the Club cannot manage the event without your help. We need volunteers for tasks large and small, from painting the roads and directing traffic/parking to manning rest stops, serving lunch and more.
We’re also in need of dozens and dozens and dozens of home-made baked goods. Our lovingly made treats are a hallmark of this event and we want to keep up our good reputation!
Volunteering for CBR is a great way to make new friends, connect with old friends, and make the local cycling community a better place. Give us just a little bit of your time and you’ll get back in spades: the gratitude of riders, a nifty event t-shirt and a volunteer after-party the evening of the 15th.
Come Ride With Us!
Central Bucks Bicycle Club offers some of the best and most scenic recreational riding around. Come out and discover the joy of traversing miles of picturesque and quiet back roads together with the terrific people who form our club.
Regular cycling activities include dozens of evening and weekend bicycle rides for riders of all levels year-round, and in the summer, special club rides and tailgate rides—all-category rides with a picnic at the end.

Ad Hoc Rides
CBBC promotes the fun and safety of riding in groups! The ride calendar is established to be able to offer a variety of rides at all levels and allow members to plan their rides in advances. As we know our lives are not always predictable! Members are encouraged to post “Ad hoc” rides on the Forum and allow other members to join them.
Here is the “official” definition of a CBBC Ad Hoc Ride:
-The ride may be posted on the CBBC Forum no earlier than 48 hours of the ride date and time. Try to give members at least 24 hours notice.
-The ride is not considered a CBBC sponsored club ride.
-No approval needed by the Ride Coordinators.
-A cue sheet or sign in sheet is not needed.
-Ad hoc rides are not covered by the Club insurance policy.
-Ride start location and time is up to the ad hoc ride leader. Try not to compete with a regular club ride – those ride leaders are a precious few!
-The ride will not be credited toward the ride leader program.
-Please ride safely and courteously (especially if you’re wearing your club jersey!)
Check Out CBBC's Forum!
The new CBBC Forum is an online discussion site where members can hold conversations. It's similar in function to our former CBBCtalk listserv (which retired in February), but it allows access through our site. You can also subscribe to one, a few, or all topics to receive email notifications of new posts.
You need to be a CBBC member and log in in order for the items under the "Member Access" menu to be available, and to post to the Forum. If you've never logged in to the site but are a current member, use the Request a Login link there.
NOTE: If you are part of a "family" membership, you'll both need to utilize the primary member login name/PW for now. We plan to add capability for a second login as soon as it's available. We'll continue to share more tips in the Forum, in InGear, and in articles on the site like this one.
