SUN FEBRUARY 25, 2024 - SUNDAY MORNING WINTER HIKE - VALLEY FORGE NATIONAL PARK, FOR A CHANGE OF SCENERY

Hike Moderate Pace on Moderate Trails, 6 miles. Meet at Parking lot next to General Von Steuben Statue and Varnum's Quarters, on Valley Forge Rd/PA-23 at North Inner Line DriveRd/PA-23.. The hike leaves at 9:30 am. Scenic hike with some historic landmarks here and there, including Washington's Headquarters and the Valley Forge train station, which looks like a movie scene.. Climb over Mount Joy and Mount Misery, as well as cross Valley Creek on the Knox Covered Bridge. Most of our route will be on unpaved hiking trails. Hiking poles and sturdy hiking shoes are strongly recommended. Total climbing 993 ft. Short-cut option available on the second half. START/FINISH POINT: the parking lot next to the General Von Steuben Statue and Varnum's Quarters, ~4801 Valley Forge Park Rd/PA-23, at North Inner Line Drive.
