SUN FEBRUARY 25, 2024 - SUNDAY AFTERNOON (POST-HIKE) WINTER RAMBLE RIDE - VALLEY FORGE NATIONAL PARK TO EXTON FOR COFFEE, VIA CHESTER VALLEY TRAIL
Level B-/C+: 13-14mph, 34 miles. Meet at Parking lot next to General Von Steuben's statue, Valley Forge National Park. The ride leaves at 1:00 pm. For Feb. 25: Easy, mostly out-and-back ramble from Valley Forge National Park to Exton, for a quick coffee/snack stop at the Barnes & Noble Cafe. Most of the miles (outbound and return) will be on the flat-ish Chester Valley Trail, with a little bit of detouring through residential neighborhoods in Chesterbrook & Wayne. Coffee stop at Barnes & Noble is at the half-way mark. Total elevation gain 1495 ft, averaging 44 ft/mile. GENERIC DESCRIPTION: Scenic loop, thru Mont.Co. or Lower Bucks, brief rest stop. MEETING POINTS WILL VARY, based on the various Start/Finish points of the morning hike somewhere in the Wissahickon. Return by 5:00pm. Distance will be determined by sunset time. Please bring LIGHTS. Details posted each week. Every Sun during winter hike season, weather permitting, w/possible exception Valentine's Day weekend. If weather not bike-friendly, ride may be replaced by snow activity.
